Get Oda in Excel working, find answers, and contact DataMind.
Get started
Oda in Excel works with DataMind OS. Your administrator turns it on for your account.
- Install Oda from Microsoft Marketplace, where it is listed as DataMind Oda: AI Data Agent, or your administrator deploys it to you from the Microsoft 365 admin center (Integrated apps).
- In Excel, on the Home tab, in the DataMind group, click Oda.
- Enter Your DataMind address: the address you use to open DataMind OS in your browser, for example
datamind.yourcompany.com. - Click Sign in to DataMind and sign in with your company’s DataMind account.
Requirements
- A DataMind OS subscription.
- The DataMind Oda in Excel permission set from your administrator: Use DataMind Oda, Use Minds from DataMind Oda and Use DataMind Oda in Excel.
- Excel on Windows (Microsoft 365, or Office 2021 and later), Excel for Mac on a Mac with Safari 17.4 or later, or Excel on the web in a current browser. Excel on iPad is not supported.
- English. Oda in Excel is in English.
- A DataMind workspace your computer reaches over https, recent enough to allow Oda from Microsoft Marketplace.
If Excel or your browser does not keep your DataMind sign-in, DataMind Oda asks you to sign in each time you open a workbook. Your chats stay on this computer.
For administrators
Access
In DataMind OS, give people the DataMind Oda in Excel permission set. It includes Use DataMind Oda, Use Minds from DataMind Oda and Use DataMind Oda in Excel.

On the Oda in Excel card of the DataMind Oda settings, turn these on or off for the whole company:

The company switch for Memory is a ceiling: each person still turns Memory on for themselves.
The Oda from Microsoft Marketplace switch on the same card decides whether people can connect Oda from Microsoft Marketplace to your DataMind. It is on by default on workspaces DataMind hosts and off by default on DataMind your organization runs, where an administrator turns it on. When it is off, only the add-in installed from your DataMind connects.
Deployment
Deploy the add-in to users or groups from the Microsoft 365 admin center (Integrated apps), or let people add it from Microsoft Marketplace.
Network
Excel needs to reach excel.datamind-oda.com, appsforoffice.microsoft.com, ajax.aspnetcdn.com and your DataMind workspace over https.
Private networks
If your DataMind runs inside your company network, install Oda for Excel from your DataMind instead: in DataMind OS, open Universe, then the DataMind Oda card, then Excel.
Common problems
Find the message you see, then take the step next to it.

Can’t reach datamind.yourcompany.com | Check the address and your connection, then click Try again. If your DataMind runs inside your company network, ask your administrator to install Oda for Excel from your DataMind. |

Report an answer
Report this answer, under an answer in the pane, sends the reason, your details and, only if you tick the box, the answer and your message to your organization’s DataMind workspace, where your administrators review it. Ratings you give with Good answer and Not helpful go to the same place. DataMind does not receive these reports.
To tell DataMind about a harmful or wrong answer, email support@datamind.com with the date, the Oda version and what was wrong. We review every such report.

- your DataMind address;
- your Excel version and platform;
- the time it happened and the message you saw;
- the Oda version, under About in Settings.
Never send passwords, access tokens or confidential workbook content.
We reply within 2 business days. Customers with a support agreement use the channel in their agreement.
Security
Report a security issue in Oda in Excel or on datamind-oda.com to support@datamind.com. Describe what you found and how to reproduce it, and leave out other people’s data.
